Well...what to say.
For starters, after 2 viewings so far, this is by far, bar NONE, my 4th fave Godzilla film (GMK, Return of Godzilla, and Gojira are above this but this movie is slowly overtaking GMK), and I have many reasons for putting it where it is in the long 60 year history of the big guy.
Now, I'll try to be as spoiler-free as possible, since there are still people who have yet to see it.
The acting is top notch in this film, miles better than G98 (only comparing because this is the only other naturally english speaking Godzilla movie, but to be fair Captain Gordon/Don Frye did about as good performance as anyone in G2014), however I do understand where the criticism comes from, especially with Aaron Taylor Johnson. However, like most people who like to defend his performance, I'd like to counter argument saying he IS supposed to be a hard trained soldier who went through a lot of emotional pain in his childhood, and in a lot of emotional scenes he DOES visibly look like he's trying to hold himself back, like I've seen soldiers do. And as for Bryan Cranston....do I really even need to SAY anything? He's such a wonderful actor in this film, and I will definitely give Breaking Bad a shot because of his performance (I've never seen it before, sue me). Ken Watanabe was great as always, as I've always loved the Last Samurai, and expected nothing less from the man. His character is definitely deserving of the name "Dr. Serizawa". Now the General character does his role well, and I love this one scene where his reaction to a certain object made him reflect if a plan to be rid of the Kaiju is really worth it (Those who have seen the movie will know exactly what I'm talking about)
As for the Kaiju themselves I really don't want to get much into, but I must say they're really awesome, especially the Female M.U.T.O, who just has this sorta presence to her that gives off a feeling of dread whenever she's on screen.
As for Godzilla himself....this is Godzilla, I repeat this IS Godzilla! Every time he was on the screen it was freakin' AMAZING! He gives off such a feeling of power and majesty that it leaves me in awe every time I see him.
And as for the complaints about him not being on screen enough....the original Gojira. That is all.
To wrap up the spoiler-free revew, this is a movie worth watching, even if you're a Non-Kaiju fan. If you ARE a Kaiju fan it's worth watching in nearly every format (2D, 3D, IMAX, Blu-Ray, DVD, hell I hear there are even people who can put modern movies on VHS tapes) multiple times. I know I'm going to see it in IMAX when my local IMAX theater has it available (But that's not for another 3 1/2 weeks, unfortunately).
9/10 would watch over and over and over.

Ayyyyy dA is dead.
Oh hai.
DeviantArt is like...dead to me tbh. Straight up abandoned this joint. No shame.
Though I kinda feel bad for the peeps on here who like...used to like me and whatnot. So I racked my brain as to what to do about that. I mean I just got like 2 new watchers the other day and I'm like "why tho lol"
I also DO wanna get back into writing, but like I said, this place is dead to me (as is FanFiction.Net), so wat do?
Well, I guess it's long overdue, but I got a Tumblr. So I guess this journal is to officially tell peeps I'm "moving" over there (even though I've been on Facebook for years as Admin Ziller on Godzilla vs All (RIP) and Admin Z
Godzilla: the Game Review (PS3)
Well, I promised this, and I'm gonna deliver dammit. So for the first thing I've done here on dA...it's gonna be a journal.
WARNING: TL;DR
This is going to be a tough review to write, I want to get one thing out of the way right away; your enjoyment of this game will likely be directly proportionate to your love of the Godzilla franchise. If you're, like me, a die-hard, lifelong fan of the Big G through all his ups and downs, then I suspect my review will resonate with you. If not, well….I'll try to put things in the perspective of a non-Godzilla fan, a "gamer", if you will. I've been a video game enthusiast nearly as long as I've bee
Hype Level=9001 *UPDATED*
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR GODZILLA PS3 AND MUCH TL;DR.
So I just got through playing the demo for the new Godzilla game for the PS3 that dropped today.
I love it I love it I LOOOOOVE it. ~iloveyouplz (https://www.deviantart.com/iloveyouplz)
The control scheme is a bit awkward. You turn Godzilla with the L1/R1 buttons and if you press left or right on the control stick he just shimmies. The camera is free range, and you can actually get some pretty decent angles because the control scheme is always the same no matter what camera angle you're in. Godzilla always moves forward when you press up on the control stick.
The destruction is awesome and blood pumping and the combat controls
Meh.
So, update.
I've been gone for a really really long time not doing jack sh*t THIS time because I was in a relationship, a long one, and apparently a bad one.
She left me, and for those who aren't in my facebook circle, she made me homeless for 3 days, too.
Had to sleep in a bush.
Bad stuff.
My ma, bless her heart, took me in and I'm getting my life back together again now that I'm not so love blind anymore. I really need to learn how to take break-ups better, but then again none of my past ex's ever kicked me out and left me on the streets without even a single day to get something together.
Eh, it's in the past.
As for writing, I may

I loved it too. Any chance of the MUTOs appearing in the Kaiju Squad story? I can easily see them as a Bonny and Clyde duo. Being Radiation parasites the could be like Vampires. EMP Blasting Vamires but still...
