Well...what to say.

For starters, after 2 viewings so far, this is by far, bar NONE, my 4th fave Godzilla film (GMK, Return of Godzilla, and Gojira are above this but this movie is slowly overtaking GMK), and I have many reasons for putting it where it is in the long 60 year history of the big guy.

Now, I'll try to be as spoiler-free as possible, since there are still people who have yet to see it.

The acting is top notch in this film, miles better than G98 (only comparing because this is the only other naturally english speaking Godzilla movie, but to be fair Captain Gordon/Don Frye did about as good performance as anyone in G2014), however I do understand where the criticism comes from, especially with Aaron Taylor Johnson. However, like most people who like to defend his performance, I'd like to counter argument saying he IS supposed to be a hard trained soldier who went through a lot of emotional pain in his childhood, and in a lot of emotional scenes he DOES visibly look like he's trying to hold himself back, like I've seen soldiers do. And as for Bryan Cranston....do I really even need to SAY anything? He's such a wonderful actor in this film, and I will definitely give Breaking Bad a shot because of his performance (I've never seen it before, sue me). Ken Watanabe was great as always, as I've always loved the Last Samurai, and expected nothing less from the man. His character is definitely deserving of the name "Dr. Serizawa". Now the General character does his role well, and I love this one scene where his reaction to a certain object made him reflect if a plan to be rid of the Kaiju is really worth it (Those who have seen the movie will know exactly what I'm talking about)

As for the Kaiju themselves I really don't want to get much into, but I must say they're really awesome, especially the Female M.U.T.O, who just has this sorta presence to her that gives off a feeling of dread whenever she's on screen.

As for Godzilla himself....this is Godzilla, I repeat this IS Godzilla! Every time he was on the screen it was freakin' AMAZING! He gives off such a feeling of power and majesty that it leaves me in awe every time I see him.

And as for the complaints about him not being on screen enough....the original Gojira. That is all.

To wrap up the spoiler-free revew, this is a movie worth watching, even if you're a Non-Kaiju fan. If you ARE a Kaiju fan it's worth watching in nearly every format (2D, 3D, IMAX, Blu-Ray, DVD, hell I hear there are even people who can put modern movies on VHS tapes) multiple times. I know I'm going to see it in IMAX when my local IMAX theater has it available (But that's not for another 3 1/2 weeks, unfortunately).

9/10 would watch over and over and over.

I loved it too. Any chance of the MUTOs appearing in the Kaiju Squad story? I can easily see them as a Bonny and Clyde duo. Being Radiation parasites the could be like Vampires. :D EMP Blasting Vamires but still...
